As the Boxing Day Test begins in Melbourne, one Indian who will remain glued to his television set will be Sreesanth. It8217;s any pacer8217;s dream to bowl on the bouncy tracks of Australia. If he were with the team, the bowler would have been a certainty in the playing eleven tomorrow. But as luck would have it, he is recuperating from a shoulder injury.
However, the Kerala pacer has taken it all in his stride. 8220;I can8217;t do much about things which are not in my control. I am obviously disappointed to miss out. But that8217;s how things are. I am recovering well,8221; said Sreesanth.
The 24-year old, undergoing ayurvedic treatment, has returned to action. He is bowling at the BPCL Kochi Refinery Academy. 8220;My recovery rate is fast. I8217;m 80 per cent fit now. I have started bowling, but I8217;m not hurrying things, not bowling at full pace, taking it easy. I am constantly talking to John Gloster and following his advice. I should be playing in couple of weeks. Right now I am concentrating on working hard on my fitness,8221; he told The Indian Express over phone.
The pacer is currently aiming to play the Ranji Trophy Plate Group final, should Kerala win the semi-final against Railways currently underway in Nagpur. 8220;I would like to play. It will be a momentous occasion for Kerala, and I want to be a part of it,8221; said Sreesanth.
The final is beginning on January 5. From January 2, he will start his training under Dav Whatmore at the NCA in Bangalore. 8220;Yes, I am giving it my best shot. Hope to be fit soon. Just pray for me,8221; said Sreesanth.
