NOVEMBER 4: A Bar girl from Thane, Jubaida Ramzan Sheikh alias Kiran (28), got her husband Ashok Chavan (33) to kill her lover on November 4.According to Vartaknagar police Sheikh had an affair with a client, Shashikant Nivrutti Jogdand, who regularly visited the bar where she worked. After a few private meetings, he began avoiding her. She decided to ask her husband to kill him when she realised that he was `close' to another bar-girl. Chavan told the police that his wife had complained that Jogdand had followed her and made sexual advances.Chavan, and two accomplices Kamlakar Hari Patil and Naresh Ankush Gundile, kept a watch on Jogdand's movements and accosted him at 8.30 pm yesterday when he was sitting with the other bar-girl near Upavan lake. They attacked him with knives and choppers and escaped in a Sumo. Jogdand, who was bleeding profusely, was rushed to the Civil Hospital, Thane where he died before admission. The police traced the accused by the vehicle number who have been charged with Sec302 (murder).
