PANCHKULA, MARCH 14: Festive atmosphere prevailed at the Sector 5 Town Park as a large number of visitors thronged the two-day Spring Fest 8211; 99 on its concluding day here today.
While the crowds were moderate yesterday, locals as well as visitors from the adjoining areas turned up in good numbers on account of today being a holiday.
The venue of the baby show was buzzing with excitement in the morning with eager parents and bewildered toddlers. The show received about 200 enteries. There were three categories of different age groups and separate prizes were announced for boys and girls.
Antakshri, organised for school students, too got an enthusiastic response from the visitors. A team of two students from one school was allowed to participate in the contest.
Earlier, a hasya ras sammelen was held. Two entries per schools were permitted, with each participant getting up to five minutes to perform in any language.
Stall owners, particularly those dealing in clothes, gift items, eatables as well as recreational stalls did brisk business today. The Haryana police band played popular tunes and enlivened the atmosphere.
School children presented folk dances from various states before the prize distribution function where Haryana Chief Secretary Ram S. Varma honoured the winners.
