Speaker to move HC against Chautala

CHANDIGARH, Sept 8: Har0yana Assembly Speaker Chhattar Singh Chauhan today said he planned to file a defamation suit in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against Indian National Lok Dal leader Om Parkash Chautala for levelling allegations that Chauhan allegedly obtained limestone mining contracts for his relations or acquaintances from the state government.“Last week Chautala openly named me for getting the mining contract in my own name now he says I obtained contracts for my relations or acquaintances,” Chauhan said.

Chauhan said Chautala was “a habitual allegation leveller”.Stoutly denying Chautala’s allegations Chauhan said as HVP MLA he was bound by party discipline. Earlier, addressing a press conference here today, he said mining contracts of lime stone at Dostpur village on Haryana-Rajasthan border were given by the government to their kith and kin. relations or acquaintances of Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma and Planning Board Deputy Chairman Kailash Chand Sharma.While Education Minister was away to Gujarat, Kailash Chand Sharma said none of his relations had been given any mining contracts. “Since I belong to the area, mining contractors are known to me. What’s the harm in that,” he said.
