Samajwadi Party national general secretary Shyam Charan Gupta indicated on Thursday that his party may forge an electoral alliance with Congress shortly. Both the Samajwadi Party and the Congress want to ensure that the Mayawati government in UP is not returned to power and the BJP-led NDA at the centre. ‘‘This has compelled the leaderships of both the parties to work out an electoral alliance sooner than later,’’ Gupta said.
