Sonia meets Pranab, Antony ahead of talks with SP

Ahead of her meeting with Samajwadi party leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday held discussions with party leaders, including External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Defence Minister A K Antony.

Mukherjee and Antony drove to Gandhi’s residence this morning and is understood to have discussed political developments over the agreement.

Senior party leader and AICC general secretary Ahmed Patel was also present during an hour-long meeting.

SP leaders Yadav and Singh are expected to meet Gandhi in a day or so, highly-placed sources in the party said.
