Mumbai, NOV 12: In an exciting finish, GD Somani prevailed over St Anne’s, Malad, by one wicket to enter the second-round of the Harris Shield Inter-School cricket tournament at the Cross maidan, today.
Somani, chasing 118 for a win, lost nine wickets for 113. However, the last wicket pair of Ryan Than (eight) and Partik Sakaria (0) saw them through.
A seven-wicket haul by Vishal Patil (7-48) proved to be in vain for Madhyamic Vidyalaya who lost to Cumballa Hill by 43 runs.

Ashok Ruia’s team, Mumbai, represented by Ashok Goel, J Solani, J M Shah, M V Lal, Kamal Mukherjee and Ashok Ruia, was leading with 80 VP at the end of the fourth round of Swiss League matches in the Tolani National Masters bridge championship at the Central Railway auditorium, today.
Ruia’s team won all their four matches played against Kalpana Misra, Calcutta (21-9), Formidables, Delhi (25-5), Haldibari, Calcutta (17-13) and Pankaj Kapadia, Surat (17-13).
