PUNE, April 20: Athletes from Krida Prabhodhini hogged the limelight on the final day of the sub-junior athletics championship organised by National Sports Trust under the aegis of Poona District Athletic Association (PDAA).

Snehal Sawant of Abhijeet Sports Club who finished first in the 100 metre event in the girls under-14 section with a timing of 13.00 seconds, was adjudged the Best Athlete of the championship. Sunanda Ghatge (Krida Prabhodhini) and Shehnaz Sayyed (Anglo Urdu) came in second and third respectively. Meanwhile, in what was a tooth and nail affair, Kulesh Potvi of Krida Prabhodhini emerged the fastest in the boys under-14 100 metre event, clocking 12.00 seconds. Kulesh in the process pipped his teammates – Madhukar Pudav and Aadinarayan Kumbhar who had to be satisfied with the second and the third spots respectively. In the girls section, Krida Prabodhini did exceedingly well bagging a total of eight medals which included four gold. Barring the under-12 4x100m relay and the under-10 4 x50m relay, the other gold’s won were individual performances with Trupti Lad (60m), and Shumali Paradke (300m) bagging golds.
