DEC 29: A massive re-shuffle is expected in the Federal Cabinet soon after Eid when six ministers would be replaced by "people of certain political experience and background," according to media reports here.

`The Frontier Post‘ quoted sources to say that a decision to this effect had already been taken and would be announced at a proper time. "It seems that the decision is likely to be announced after Eid," it added.

Among those who are to be sent home include Federal Minister for Population Welfare, Women Development, Social Welfare and Special Education Attya Inayatullah, Federal Minister for Education Zubaida Jalal, Federal Minister for Environment, Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Omer Asghar Khan, Federal Minister for Health Abdul Malik Kasi, Petroleum Minister Usman Aminuddin and Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Aziz.

"Some of these ministers have proven to be a total failure whereas others have caused obstacles to the smooth functioning of the official business," sources maintained.

The sources further contended that Secretary General for Finance Moin Afzal was likely to be handed over the portfolio of Minister for Finance in place of Shaukat Aziz.

Similarly, the sources disclosed that the portfolio of Lt Gen (retd) Moinuddin Haider would be changed, but he would be retained in the federal Cabinet.

Lt Gen (retd) Hamid Nawaz is likely to be inducted as Interior Minister, said the sources.
