Fugitive RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin has once again put Bihar Police in the dock. According to records of a Muzaffarpur university, the Siwan MP took a second year law examination on Thursday, despite a red corner notice against him. The MP has a number of non-bailable warrants pending against him.

The state administration has directed Muzaffarpur SP Ratn Sanjay to probe the matter. Interestingly, he is the same police officer who had acted strongly against the MP, during his tenure as Siwan SP. When contacted, the SP denied that Shahabuddin had come to Muzaffarpur to give the exam. “Shahabuddin did not come to give the examination. It could be a case of impersonation. It is for the university and the college people to inquire,” Sanjay told The Indian Express.

Today, the police seized the examination documents, and questioned the Vice-Chancellor, Controller of Examinations and the Registrar. “Strong action will be taken against the university and college officials who have allowed an absconder to take the examination”, Inspector General of police Suneet Kumar said.
