The Mumbai Police has sought help from its Uttarakhand counterpart following a complaint lodged by actor Kangna Ranaut against Avinash, the man who allegedly threw acid on her sister’s face on October 5, 2006.
According to Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Sanjay Kumar Gunjial, the Mumbai police has forwarded a fresh complaint lodged by the actor in which she has alleged that Avinash had been giving her threat calls on her mobile phone. Kangna said that Avinash, who had studied with her sister Rangoli at their native place in Sarkaghat and wanted to marry her, has now threatened to throw acid on the actor’s face if she did not get her sister married to him.
Kangna, in her complaint, said that Avinash had been calling her up from Himachal Pradesh and threatening to throw acid on her face. He claimed he was in touch with the Mumbai underworld and could harm her, she has alleged. Gunjial said that an inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the facts regarding the alleged threat.
