A day before External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha meets his visiting French counterpart Dominique de Villepin, India today said it has ‘‘sensitised’’ the French government on the concerns of the Sikh community over the proposed legislation banning turbans in French schools.
‘‘The government has sensitised the French government through the embassies in Delhi and Paris on the concerns of the community,’’ the MEA spokesperson said. The French government had recently decided to ban all religious symbols. The issue could come up at the talks between Sinha and Villepin tomorrow.
