Rajinder among Arjuna awardees
The Sports Ministry, which erroneously left out Olympian Rajinder Singh, from the list of sportspersons to be bestowed with the Arjuna award for 1977, today made amends by including his name. Rajinder Singh, was a member of India’s 1980 Moscow Games gold medal winning team. The former defender and penalty corner specialist was not only a key member at Moscow but emerged as the top goal-scorer with 13 at the 1981 Mumbai World Cup.
