Salwan win final
Deadly bowling by Sandeep Sharma (3 for 19) and an unbeaten 44 by Karn Jethi helped Salwan Boys beat DLDAV School (Shalimar Bagh) by eight wickets in the final of Chacha Nehru memorial tournament at Bharat Nagar sports complex. Put in to bat, DAV School were shot out for 99 in 37.3 overs and Salwan reached the target in 17.4 overs, for the loss of two wickets. Prizes were given away by Sat Pal, Deputy Director, Sports, Delhi Admn, and Sunil Dev, sports secretary, DDCA.

Brief Scores: DL DAV: 99 (Vikas Singh 21 not out, Sandeep Sharma 3 for 19). Salwan: 100 for 2 (Karun Jethi 44 not out, Deepak Kumar 26).

Srikant shines
A fine all-round performance by R Srikant (4 for 73 and 46 not out) helped Alpine Club beat Bank of Baroda by 92 runs in a B division match of DDCA league at Kotla 2.

Tyagi upset
Unseeded Sanjay Kishore caused a major upset by beating second seeded P K Tyagi 21-17, 17-21, 21-19 to enter the quarter-finals of table tennis event in the 12th DDA indoor games at Vikas sadan. In other matches, B N Bhattacharya beat B K Bansal 21-14, 21-12; H K Kohli defeated H C Tewari 21-5, 21-10 and S K Sharma downed D V Jain 18-21, 21-17, 21-14.

St Mark’s in final
St Mark’s entered the final of Deorani memorial football tournament (u-14) beating CRPF Public School, Rohini 2-1 via tie-breaker. Naveen and Amit scored for the winners while Gulshan got the lone goal for the team from Rohini.

St Mark’s await the winners of the second semi-final between Moti Bagh Senior Secondary School and Birla Vidya Niketan to be played tomorrow.

Paras Dogra excels
A fine all-round performance by Paras Dogra (3 for 10 and 43 not out) helped St Columba’s School beat Bal Bharati School by three wickets in the RR Gymkhana inter-school tournament for the R P Jain Trophy.
