The Mumbai traffic police have surprisingly refused permission to conduct the 11th Mitsubishi Monsoon scooter rally to be run from Mumbai to Shahapur on June 29.

The organising secretary of the rally, Srikanth Karani said that the Additional Commissioner for Traffic, Mumbai, Hassan Gafoor denied permission saying it was a commercial event.

The organisers were denied permission last year as well. This year’s setback comes at the last moment despite assurances, according to the organisers.

The rally will now be flagged-off from Bhiwandi by-pass (Kalpathru Hotel) to Shahapur. Champion rider Zubin Patel, Aamir Dalvi, Ilyas Bham and Rustom Patel are some of the leading ralliers to be seen in action.
