Book on martial arts released

Bushi the Warrior,

a book written by Farokh Dinshaw, was released recently by publishers Marine Sports. The book is designed to dispel the popular myths and beliefs related to martial arts. The book is an advanced version of The Code of Bushido, writer8217;s first work published in 1991.

Dinshaw has taught over 20,000 students, worked with the Indian Army and authored a boof on fitness Fighting Fit Forever.

Omkar8217;s feat

Omkar Chandreshakar Kulkarni swam the distance from Dharamtar to Gateway of India 36km in seven hours, 59 minutes and 32 seconds on November 7.

The 11-year-old sixth standard student of Vidya Niketan Dombivli has earlier swum from Sunrock to Gateway 5km in 50 minutes.

Coached by Arati Pradhan at the Dombivli Gymkhana, little Omkar is planning to make a splash at a meet inZurich soon.

Triple for Lydia

Lydia D8217;Souza scored a triple success at the Asia Pacific Masters Games held at Queensland from November 6-8.

Participating in the 30-plus age group, D8217;Souza won a gold medal in the hammer throw, a silver in weight pentathlon, and bronze in shot put.

Coached by Sundeep Bhangle, D8217;Souza had won a gold medal at the Maharashtra State Veterans8217; athletic meet in February, a gold in the hammer throw at the Maharashtra State meet.
