Hoshiyar Singh, the expelled Station House Officer and an accused in the M K Gupta murder case, was in regular contact with BSP MLA Shekhar Tiwari on phone when the victim was abducted and beaten to death on December 24. Uttar Pradesh DGP Vikram Singh revealed this on Saturday. He said,Both the call details and the interrogation of Tiwari have established that the then SHO of Dibiyapur police station,Hoshiyar Singh, had received several calls and had called back the MLA,while the gruesome incident took place that night. Hoshiyar Singh had even asked Sub Inspector Kamlesh Singh Yadav to come back to the police station from the GAIL Vihar colony where Yadav had gone after receiving the information about attack on Gupta. The DGP contradicted Chief Minister Mayawatis claim that the engineers murder was a conspiracy hatched by the opposition parties. He said,The investigation so far has not found involvement of any political party. The DGP said the MLA,along with his men, consumed liquor at Gangotri guest house at GAIL Colony between 10 and 11 pm on December 23. Later, the group left for Guptas residence in the same colony. They forced the guard of the colony and the cook of the guesthouse to identify Guptas house. The doors of the main entrance and the bedroom were broken and Gupta was assaulted by the MLA and his goons, including the police gunners. The DGP added that Gupta was dragged to the guesthouse where he was tortured and when he fell unconscious,Tiwari and his aides took him to the local police station at 3 am. He said the entry made in the general diary of the police station stated that a critically injured unidentified man was brought there by Tiwari. The victim was taken to the district hospital where he was declared brought dead. The SHO did not turn up at the scene even though he was in touch with the MLA.
