NASHIK, May 4: The Shiv Sena won the civic seat from the controversial Ward No 48 (CIDCO) after a re-poll on Saturday, increasing its strength to 21 in the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC).
The Shiv Sena nominee, Chandrakant Pande (brother of Sena’s district chief Vinayak Pande), who had been accused of rigging the poll on February 23, necessitating a re-poll, won the seat with a margin of 206 votes.
Pande secured 1,081 votes as against 875 secured by his nearest rival, rebel Congressman Shivaji Chumbale.
