Shilpa’s mother meets Modi, ‘no talk of case’

Sunanda Shetty, mother of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty and co-accused in a case of alleged extortion, called on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Shetty, who spent around 15 minutes with Modi, said it was just a courtesy call as she was visiting Ahmedabad and declined to give more details about her trip. When asked what she discussed with Modi, Shetty said she spoke of the ‘‘beauty of Ahmedabad’’. On being pestered for a reply, Shetty said: ‘‘Other things were also discussed… I can’t be just talking about Ahmedabad alone….It is personal.’’ — (PTI)
