PUNE, Feb 7: Shetkari Sanghatana has threatened to launch an agitation if the Union Government did not lift the ban on export of onions.
A two-day meeting of the steering committee of the sanghatana, which was held at Ambethan near here, decided to send the letters to the Prime Minister and all the chief ministers, urging them to lift the ban.
The meeting, which was presided over by sanghatana president Wamanrao Chatap, also decided to launch counter agitation against the proposed indefinite strikes of the organised government employees. The meeting also decided to launch an agitation for formation separate Vidarbha.
