NEW DELHI, Dec 5: Cinestar Shahrukh Khan, accused for hoarding and black marketting kerosene oil in 1991, was today discharged by a city court for lack of sufficient evidence. Eight more accused, alleged of being a part of the conspiracy were also discharged by the court.

Referring to a High Court order, Additional Sessions Judge Sharda Aggarwal, said,“In view of the judgement set in case in Rajkumar Vs State reported in 1994 of Delhi Law Times, High Court, all the accused persons are discharged.”

The accused:Rajendar Prasad, Vinay Kumar Gupta (owner of oil tanker no.DL-1G-2204), Karanjit (driver of the oil tanker), Mange Ram (owner of M/s Sunil Oil Company), Satbir (owner of M/s Prem Kerosene Oil Depot), Ramchander (employee of Shah Oil trader) and Uma Shanker (driver of oil tanker no. BHG-3490) were arrested by anti-hoarding department of Delhi Police on November 10, 1991.

According to the complaint filed by the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Shahrukh Khan’s company Shah Oil Traders –wholesale distibutors of kerosene oil — got two tankers filled by Bijwasan in Najafgarh on November 9. The quantity of the oil was reportedly 22,000 litres. Tanker number DL-1G-2204 was loaded with 12,000 litres of oil whereas the second tanker (BHG-3490) with 10,000 litres.

Instead of distributing the full amount of oil to the wholesalers, Shah traders is said to have hoarded 7,200 and destroyed 1,100 litres of oil. Out of the 12,000 litres, the company hoarded 7,200 to Sunil Oil Company in Faridabad at the rate of Rs 4 per litre against the market price of Rs 2.64 per litre.

The company also managed to save 1,100 litres from the second tanker. But the intimation about the impending raid of the anti-hoarding department forced them to drain it near Gautam Nagar on November 10.

The department however managed to apprehend the tanker number BHG-3490 at the South Extension Ring Road.Uma Shanker was arrested on the spot.Shah Oil Traders reportedly belonged to Shahrukh Khan’s mother, Latif Fatima. Khan was apartner in the company. After his mother’s demise, the company was under Khan’s supervision. But his success at Bollywood led him to shut down the company.
