LT GENERAL R.S. Shahrawat took over as Director General of the Army Ordnance Corps yesterday. He succeeds Lt General T.J.S. Gill.
General Shahrawat, an alumni of the National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy, was initially commissioned in the Grenadiers.
He joined Army Ordnance Corps in August, 1973, after serving in 11 Grenadiers for eight years. General Shahrawat headed the College of Materials, Jabalpur before taking over the reins of Ordnance Corps. He is the recipient of Vishist Seva Medal.
