CHANDIGARH, JULY 19: The gripping saga of love and Partition, Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh, has won the national award for the best Punjabi film in the regional film category. Keeping with the mood of the nation, its producer Manjit Maan has decided to donate the award proceeds to the families of Kargil martyrs.
This NFDC film was screened at the Calcutta Film Festival and was in the Indian panorama at the International Film Festival of India, this year. Directed by Manoj Punj, the film stars Gurdas Mann and Divya Dutta in lead roles and is scripted by Suraj Sanim. According to a press release from the producers, the film has been selected for festivals abroad like those at Vancouver, Venice and for the SAARC Film Festival at Colombo.
