PUNE, MAR 27: Seven persons, including two children, were injured in a fire in a hotel in Mahabaleshwar, the prime hill station of Maharashtra in Satara district, on Sunday.

According to the fire brigade, the blaze erupted in the dining hall of Sunny International, possibly due to a short circuit. It soon spread to other parts of the hotel and seven occupants became unconscious due to aspyxiation as a result of smoke. Fire brigade officials broke the window panes of the hotel and brought the victims out.

The injured include a two year old boy and a seven-year-old girl. All were, however, out of danger, the sources said.

Fire brigade personnel battled for nearly three hours to contain the fire.
