NEW DELHI, November 24: Seven candidates, including Food and Civil Supplies Minister Poornima Sethi and Finance Minister Jagdish Mukhi, have refused to sign a pledge against child labour. Out of the seven, six were from the BJP. Apart from Mukhi standing from Janakpuri and Sethi from Kalkaji, the Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) and the South Asian Coalition on Child Servitude (SACCS) said Ramesh Vidhuri (BJP) from Tughlakabad, Surendra Ratawal (BJP) from Karol Bagh, K.K. Mehta (BJP) from Okhla, Shyam Lal Garg (BJP) from Wazirpur, and Shadiram (Congress) from Kamla Nagar also refused to sign the pledge.

The NGO, the seven said child labour was not an issue and if there was one it was that children must work because of poverty.
