MUMBAI, July 25: Municipal Commissioner K Nalinakshan says he will consider giving the green signal for a separate ward for rape victims - the first of its kind in Mumbai - at the Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General (LTMG) Hospital, Sion.Nalinakshan, who visited the civic hospital on Friday, was told by Dean Dr A R Fernandes that recovery of rape victims would be facilitated with a separate ward for them. In the general ward, they are subjected to public glare, and the treatment given to them by nurses or other staff like ward boys or ayahs is not monitored, Fernandes said. The hospital already has a trauma care ward for accident patients. The dean said this ward could be called the `Mother Ward'. Eminent doctors should be invited to conduct workshops for helping civic doctors, he added.
