NAGPUR, NOV 7: Shiv Sena leaders from the district led by former Chief Minister Narayan Rane were detained on Monday when they staged a chakka-jam> at three places in the district to highlight their demands which included raising procurement price of cotton to Rs 2,500 a quintal, declaring the region drought-hit and immediate payment of relief to the farmers.The former Chief Minister led the chakka-jam at Dongargaon village on the Nagpur-Hyderabad National Highway, where he was detained alongwith Sena Members of Parliament Subodh Mohite and Sanjay Nirpum. Similar agitations were also held at Kanhan-Kandri area on the Nagpur-Jabalpur highway and Jalalkheda in Katol tehsil.At Dongargaon, Sena members and farmers gathered on the National Highway and blocked it for the movement of traffic at around 11.30 am. Soon, they were joined by Rane and other Sena leaders who reached there from Nagpur. It continued for nearly two hours during which Sena leaders addressed the public.
