The Congress on Monday said security constraints had grounded Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s campaign for the third phase of polls on May 5. The SPG is also likely to shoot down her plans in the South for the last phase of polls. When the second phase of polling ended on April 26, the AICC had announced that Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi would be campaigning for the third phase ‘‘in UP and other places’’ . Party leaders said it wasn’t the first time the SPG had shot down Priyanka’s plan. Ahead of the second phase of polling in Andhra, she was to tour the state but at the last moment, the SPG refused permission, they said.
