MUMBAI, MARCH 16: Congress members in both the Houses of State Legislature today strongly voiced their objection to the way the list of telephone numbers were published by the Council secretariat for the State Legislature’s budget session.

In the Legislative Council, Congress member Arun Mehta raised a point of propriety over the issue. He said names and telephone numbers of Council Chairman Jayantrao Tilak, deputy chairman N S Pharande and Opposition leader in the Council Chhagan Bhujbal were missing from the list. “It is surprising that the list has addresses and numbers of political party offices, but does not have this important information,” Mehta said.

Chairman Tilak immediately accepted the point and said it was his responsibility to get a correct list published. “Whatever happened is not correct. As the chairman, I am responsible for this omission and I apologise for the same. I am directing the officer concerned to rectify the mistakes and circulate the new list,” Tilak said.
