NEW DELHI, July 7: An eight-year-old boy was crushed under the wheels of an Army school bus, moments after he got off the same vehicle near his house in the Delhi Cantonment are this afternoon.The police said that Arun Kumar, 8, was returning from his school at Pratap Chowk which is barely two km way from his home when the incident occurred around 3.15 p.m.. Arun got off the vehicle near his house at Shekhawati Lane in Delhi Cantonment, and was walking to the rear of the bus in order to cross the road.The bus suddenly started backing, and before Arun realised, he was crushed under the rear wheels.Though the bus driver, Lance Naik Ajmatullah, stopped the vehicle as soon as other children started shouting, Arun was dead.Arun's father Hawaldar Madan Lal and other relatives rushed to the spot soon after they received the news.They lodged a complaint with the local police later. Ajmatullah has been arrested and booked for rash and negligent driving. The police are conducting further investigations.
