The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the plea of stock broker Hiten P. Dalal and two others seeking bail in a securities scam case in which they were convicted by a Mumbai Special Court for defrauding financial institutions and investors to the tune of Rs 105 crore. A bench comprising Justice B. N. Agrawal and Justice A. R. Lakshmanan dismissed the petitions saying there had been no change in the circumstances after the apex court had dismissed their bail pleas on July 14 this year. Dalal was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment by the special court. Others who had filed the bail plea were A.D. Narottam and Anil M. Narichania.
