The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to stockbrokers Hiten Dalal and A D Narottam, both of whom were convicted by a Mumbai special court for their role in the multi-crore securities scam. A bench comprising Justice B N Agrawal and Justice A R Lakshmanan granted bail to the accused after hearing brief arguments from senior advocate R K Jain, who appeared for Dalal. When additional solicitor general R N Trivedi opposed the bail, the bench observed that the hearing in such type of matters take a very long time and cited the example of fodder scam case in which the accused have been granted bail. —(PTI)
