.

The Supreme Court today directed the committee constituted by the Bihar High Court to take steps within six weeks and identify the employees of 27 government corporations for disbursing their salaries which remained unpaid for about a decade.

The bench asked the panel to issue notices to the managing directors and officers-in-charge of the corporations to get the records of the employees for identification. The court was informed that though a sum of Rs 50 crore was deposited with the Bihar HC by the government, the salaries are yet to be paid.

The issue of non-payment of salaries to the employees had witnessed self-immolation of the son of a government employee and suicides and starvation deaths of the Bihar staff.
