Deputy chairperson Rehman Khan adjourned the Rajya Sabha minutes after the post-lunch session started amidst slogan-shouting by Shiv Sena and BJP members.
BJP’s Kripal Parmer was seen waving the Tricolour and shouting slogans.
Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Nirupam stuck to his party’s agenda demanding an apology from Union Petroleum Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar for his alleged comments on Savarkar.
Govt won’t restore Savarkar plaque
NEW DELHI: An unrelenting government on Monday informed the BJP of its decision not to restore the original plaque containing Veer Savarkar’s quotations to the Cellular Jail Memorial.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad telephonically conveyed the government’s decision to BJP Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha V.K. Malhotra. ‘‘We will take a decision on it tomorrow at the NDA parliamentary party meeting”, Malhotra said.
