August 20: Second seeded Sharath Gokul garnered a total of 5.5 points from six matches to win in the Open category of the Gokuldham Chess Club's Chess Championship at the Asha Kiran Auditorium, Goregaon, yesterday. Gokul (Elo 2235) top scored in his category from six matches. Top-seeded Arun Pandit (Elo 2250) was shocked in the 4th round by third-seeded Dinesh Bhandarkar (Elo 2045) who went on to bag the second spot. The top prize winners were 1. Sharath Gokul (5.5); 2.
