KARACHI, Dec 6: Off-Spiner Saqlain Mushtaq’s career-best five-wicket burst helped bowl West Indies out for 216 on the first day of the third and final cricket Test against Pakistan at Karachi’s National Stadium today.

A stiff neck kept Pakistan’s regular opener Saeed Anwar out of play. Instead Ijaz Ahmed started Pakistan’s innings together with Aamer Sohail.

Both batsmen added 34 runs for the first wicket before bad light stopped play 6.3 overs ahead of schedule. Sohail was unbeaten on 20 which included two cracking cover boundaries off Franklyn Rose, while Ahmed was not out on 11.
