The Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram, a Sangh Parivar outfit, sought protection for the Hindu population who are minority in villages under Brahmanigaon police station limit in Kandhamal.

“We demand strong action against the culprits and adequate security to Hindus in Brahmanigaon area,” VKA state general secretary Laxmikanta Das told reporters in Bhubaneswar.

Describing Naveen Patnaik as the “Chief Minister of minority Christians”, Das alleged that police did not take action against those miscreants belonging to the community.

VKA alleged that the police did not take action against the persons from whose house firearms were seized after the communal riot in December, 2007.

“Police inaction against them had encouraged the miscreants belonging to one community to target the Hindus,” Das said.
