The Saikia Commission, set up to probe the alleged killings by surrendered ULFA (SULFA) activists, has submitted its report to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday night, official sources said on Thursday. The Commission was constituted to look into the alleged killings of relatives of ULFA militants by SULFA activists in 1998-2000, under the Prafulla Kumar Mahanta Government. The Commission examined 35 cases and questioned a number of people, including Mahanta, former Tripura Director General of Police G M Srivastava, AGP president Brindaban Goswami and several surrendered militants.
