SAD show cause notice to party MLA Lalpura

CHANDIGARH, March 27: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today issued a show cause notice to party MLA Prem Singh Lalpura who refused to resign from his seat in the Punjab Assembly to take oath as a member of Lok Sabha from Tarn Taran.

The notice, issued by party general secretary Capt Kanwaljit Singh with the sanction of party president Parkash Singh Badal, asked Lalpura to appear before the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the party here on March 30 or send his explanation in writing. If no communication, either in writing or given personally, is received from Lalpura by that date, disciplinary action will be taken against him, the notice said.

Lalpura has been charged with betraying the voters of Tarn Taran Lok Sabha constituency who elected him with a big margin of about 1.40 lakh votes, the highest in Punjab.
