The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), headed by Simranjit Singh Mann, today demanded a White Paper from the UPA government on Operation Bluestar. In a press statement, party secretary Bhai Ram Singh said the role of various Akali leaders, CM Parkash Singh Badal, before and during the operation, should be brought before the public. “Badal and his coterie cannot just wash away the recent comments of Congress general secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi as mere election stunts,” he said, adding that there were records available and if the Centre did not issue the White Paper, they would seek information under the RTI Act.
