Test opening batsman Shiv Sunder Das has been named the captain of the India A team for the first two ‘Tests’ to be played against Sri Lanka.

The 14-member squad announced by board secretary SK nair here today, included Hemang Badani, Lakshmipathi Balaji and Murali Kartik who missed the bus for the Australia tour.

The team also included India internationals Gautam Gambhir, Mohammad Kaif, Sridharan Sriram besides India under-19 captain Ambati Rayudu and Mumbai speedster Munaf Patel.

India take on Sri Lanka in the first match at Ahmedabad on November 23.
