ACCRA, FEB 7: Ten-man South Africa eliminated co-hosts Ghana 1-0 to join Cameroon, who knocked out Algeria 2-1 after a typically erratic display, in the semi-finals of the African Nations Cup on Monday.

Striker Siyabonga Nomvete gave South Africa a 1-0 win over the `Black Stars’ in Kumasi, Ghana’s second city. Four times champions Ghana played nearly the entire second half with an extra player after Eric Tinkler, the hard man of the South African mid-field, was sent off.

Cameroon `Lions’ swept into a two-goal lead after half an hour in Accra thanks to Real Madrid’s Samuel Eto’O and West Ham’s Marc-Vivien Foe, who each claimed their second goal of the tournament, but then had to survive a second-half fightback by Algeria.
