Russia is to deliver to Iran a S-300 air missile defence system, Iranian Defence Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said on Wednesday, according to state radio."The S-300 system will be delivered to Iran within the framework of a contract agreed in the past," he was quoted as saying, without giving the date of the contract."The timing of the delivery will be announced at a later date," he added.Earlier this year Moscow delivered to Tehran OR-M1 air defence missile systems estimated to be worth USD 700 million. However Iranian state media said the S-300 is an even more sophisticated system.
