JALANDHAR, Jan 3: A Rare noble example of self-help and voluntary service has been witnessed in the construction of Rs 4 crore project for a bridge on the Nasrala choe by the people of the area under the patronage of Sant Baba Malkiat Singh of Dera Sant Baba Bhag Singh at Manko village.

Nearly 1000-foot long bridge would prove a boon to the people of several villages of the area.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal accompanied by senior officers of the district visited the project and lauded the efforts of the Dera and people. Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal announced a contribution of Rs 5 lakh for this project.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that people’s participation in the developmental process was very essential as no goal could be achieved without their active involvement.

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said that the various projects and welfare schemes launched by the government also needed constant and continuous vigilance to get speedy results and quality work.

He urged the people to consider the government projects of their own and ensure their completition under time-bound programme.
