HYDERABAD, JUNE 10: Union Minister of State for Urban Development, Bandaru Dattatreya today announced a Rs 1197 crore package for housing and urban development in Andhra Pradesh for 2000-2001.
Addressing a press conference here, Dattatreya said the Centre with the assistance of HUDCO would provide Rs 1,197 crore to Andhra Pradesh Government for housing and urban infrastructure development during the current year.
Expressing satisfaction over the performance of the state government in construction of houses for weaker sections, he said speedy implementation of housing and urban development programmes would substantially contribute for improving the quality of life of the people.
A two-day meeting of state housing ministers and secretaries is being convened at New Delhi from June 26 to review the progress of construction of two million houses for weaker sections in the country, the Minister said.
