Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has made a rare foray into politics by conveying her concerns over the US stance on global warming to Prime Minister Tony Blair, a media report said today.

She is also understood to have asked Downing Street to lobby the US after observing the alarming impact of Britain’s changing weather on her estates, The Observer reported .

“There has been dialogue between Downing Street andBuckingham Palace on all issues relating to climate change including the US position and the latest science,” said an expert on climate change, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Environmentalists believe that her intervention is likely to prove crucial, particularly as Blair has promised to make climate change a key issue at the G-8 meet next year.
