CHENNAI, MARCH 20: About 124 more Primary Health Centres (PHC) in Tamil Nadu will function `round-the-clock’ from 1998-99. A similar number of PHCs have been functioning `24 hours’ a day since last year.
TN Health and Electricity Minister Arcot N Veerasamy, replying to a question in the state Assembly on Thursday, said by 1998 all the PHCs would have their own building.
Out of the 650 PHCs, which functioned from the rented buildings, own buildings were constructed for 300 of them last year. The construction of buildings for another 212 were in progress, he added.
