Promising youngster Ronak Pandit won the gold in the junior men’s 25m rapid fire pistol at the 10th Asian Shooting Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia today. Pandit scored 562/600 to beat Ruengpanvawsp of Thailand (553) and Asal Mohd of Malaysia (552), winners of the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

In the senior women’s 10m air pistol event, the Indian team consisting of Anisa Syyed, Shweta Chaudhary and Sushma Rana won the bronze with a total score of 1134/1200.

China (1155) and Japan (1136) finished first and second, respectively, the National Rifle Association of India said in a release here.

However, in the individual event the Indians finished way down the order. The best performance came from Anisa (380) who finished eighth in the final.

In the men’s trap event, Mansher Singh was leading after two rounds with 49/50. Manavjit Singh shot 48 and Anwer Sultan (47).
