NEW DELHI, November 15: At least 3,200 commercial vehicles between 17 and 19 years old were scheduled to go off the road today in accordance with a Supreme Court order. The apex court had directed on September 22 that all vehicles over 15 years old should stop plying in three phases by December 31.A senior Transport Department official said that the registration numbers and permits of the vehicles which were to stop plying from today have been cancelled with immediate effect. The owners of such vehicles now face prosecution if they are found operating them.
