RAJKOT, Nov 26: Tired of running from pillar to post, from one table to another at the Rajkot Municipal Corporation? Well, there is going to be some relief now. A citizen's charter and a pager service introduced by the RMC to register complaints should make things a little easy. The charter is being drafted by the corporation. Municipal commissioner raj Gopal says the information is very lengthy and he has asked his staff to make it as comprehensive as possible, so that the details can be published in a tabular form. The charter will inform about the types of complaints and the officials to whom these should be reported and registered. The officials' residential addresses, and other places where they would be available, and their phone numbers will be in the charger. It will have information about who to contact when a work is not completed by the designated officer. The charter will be published and distributed soon, said the commissioner. The corporation has also decided to keep one pager in the water works deparmtent, one in the drainage and one in the streatlights department. Citizens can lodge complaints with these department any time from anywhere the city on phone. The commissioner said he would review the complaints relating to these three departments every week. He said this was being done as part of the State Government decision to publish charter of its each office as well as the local governing bodies.
